About 80 days until the end of the year. Which means I’ve had 280 days to do this stuff and here’s where I am. And … I’m adding some stuff. Adding…
Now to the rest . . .
WORK AT WORK (8:15 P.M.-5:15 PM.) – 100%. It’s invigorating and addicting and makes my evenings and weekends better … because I “leave it all on the field.”
WAKE UP AT 5:25 A.M. EVERY DAY AND STICK TO A STRICT ROUTINE: 50%. Still love my cozy bed and 6:00 a.m. is easier
WRITE IN MY JOURNAL FOR :15-MINUTES EVERY DAY: 100%. Been 100% on this for the last 45 days.
READ FOR :15-MINUTES BEFORE BED: 100% I never miss it. I read until my eyes get heavy and … out.
Every Month and Every Quarter, Analyze New Year’s Resolution Progress: 100% You’re reading it.
FOLLOW A STRICT MORNING ROUTINE THAT STARTS AT 5:25 A.M.: 50% See above. If I could just get outta bed at 5:25 I would get my “Miracle Morning” in … S ilence A ffirmations … V ision … E xercise … R ead … S cribe (write in my journal)
POWER WEEKENDS: 100%. I kinda was already doing this, but I go into the weekend with a detailed To-Do list and plan. Makes Sunday night feel very fulfilling.
JOURNAL PROJECT: 0% Putting this back to zero because I’m not doing it. I know where the journals are, but I’m not looking at them
Work Toward 10 Pull-Ups, 10 Chin-Ups, and 100 Push-Ups: 0%. If you stop for a month, at my age, I pretty much go back to zero.
150 Minutes of Exercise Per Week (75 Minutes of it being Strength Training): 0%. Still not tracking. But I think I’ve been doing about 1/2-hour daily.
Block out 3x daily for 5-Minute Slow Breathing (aka meditation): 100%. When I started my 100-Day Rosary Challenge, well, the breathing came with it AND I do more breating while driving.
Reduce Screentime to < 2 Hours Per Day: 100% Crushing this. But … now that I’ve discovered Meta … I may jump back to 2+ hours but all of it will be Muse
Write my books 15-30 Minutes Per Day: 0%
Read 1-Book Per Month (but my actual goal is 2-Books Per Month … 1 fiction, 1 non-fiction): 100%
Start a Podcast with my College Friends: 0%
Go to 10 Moth Events (with plans to tell a story): 10%. I’m heading to an October. Need to get more serious about this.
Organize and Use my YouTube Channel: 20% This is fun but I’ve been terrible about my YouTube Channel. It’s everything. It’s some home videos. It’s some random challenges and funny things from various moments. It’s a portfolio of my advertising clients. It’s a disaster. I might just Unpublish everything and rebuild it. Some stuff has no business still being up on YouTube.
Organize my Photos: 30% I’m organizing. Scanning. Having fun. But I don’t know how to actually do this. Is it even important? Who is it for? Me? My kids? Am I going to have an amazingly organized collection of digital photos catalogued by year and occasion and tagged and labeled and who will ever see my brillant work?
Learn about Investing and Make a 10- and 15-Year Plan: 100% See my previous update. I’m not Wolf of Wallstreet. But I’m also not cash-hidden-under-my-mattress guy, anymore.
Do Walter Green’s “Say It Now”: 0%
Then, of course, I’ve added some other things as the year went along.
Live Green and Sustainable: Compost bin. Check. Cotton and wool only fabrics (sheets, towels, clothes … etc … been a fun). Short showers turning water off and on. Not using the dryer and hang drying my clothes (and WOW are they softer)
Weigh 155 pounds: Mid year I was 171. Now I’m 167 and moved two belt holes this year.
Restart Homework for Life
Eat Like My Doctor Told me I Have High Cholesterol: 100% Changed everything. Started making steel cut oats on Sunday nights. I’m “Sugar Free Don”. Making sure I have daily veggies and fruits.
That’s where I am. Here’s the rest of the list (some things are Resolutions, but things I try and hold myself too, daily … back when I was trying to invent “Resolution a Day”.
See you end of year.
