The good and bad (and ugly) of having a Blog is that I’m an open book. My successes and my failures. Time for a look at the goals I set for myself this year and how I’m doing towards those goals. Not good. That’s what the critics are saying. But … my favorite time to change things is always now. No excuses. Just adjust, refocus, and go. We’re into life’s Q4 and I’ve got about 90-days to hit these goals or I’ll have a great start list for 2025.
HEALTH
Lose 15 Pounds: I’m down about 7 pounds YTD (using biz terms) and weighing in at 167.
Do 100 Burpees (with Push-Up) Daily: This was going really, really well until I gave myself a hernia.
Do 100 Sit-Ups Per Day: Again, hernia. I’m replacing it with Peter Attia’s 40-Day Outlive Workout routine.
Hike with my Rucking Vest 1x/Week: Zero days.
WRITING/CREATIVE
Blog Daily: you’re reading day-2 of my restart
Fix and Organize My Blog: This has been fun. Fixing the categories. Looking at old pages. It’s coming together.
Journal Daily: YES! Best thing I’ve done to keep my calm and focus (added prayer daily and I make a note of some names in the corner …good for that day and starting the next day)
Homework for Life Daily (and get better at it): Zero
Finish writing my “sales” book:
Get an article published: Not yet
Perform at 1 Moth Per Month: Performed at 2 and my daughter attended with me and THAT was highly rewarding
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Cold Showers in the Morning and Quick Warm Shower at Night Before Bed: I’d say I’m 50/50
Wake Early and Stick to a Routine (10:45 p.m. head on my pillow and eyes closed) …It starts with actually getting up at 5:22 a.m. and be out walking or exercising by 5:30 a.m. If I can do that, the reading, showering, and rest of the morning will be easier
Read At Least 1 Book Per Month: I’m a slow reader but I’ve done it
Memorize Things … this is going to morph into “learn Polish” and I found a Podcast that starts simple and moves on from there
HOME
Complete a 15-Minute Chore Daily: Done. This is a very, very productive idea and makes my weekends more relaxing
Garage Makeover (many daily 15-Minute Chores Could Help Accomplish This): My garage has never been so clean and organized and I’m still chipping away …got do the tool shelves
Eliminate, Throw-Away, Donate 1 Item Per Day (239 days left in the year): I forgot about this one. I’ll get on it.
Clean and Seal the Deck Before End of June: Done.
That’s a pretty good starting point. This is a work in progress. Matthew Dicks said, when he first started this, his list was small and grew and grew (and changed). Let’s see what I can do by June 1st.
