Resolutions Count-Down … 4-Days

Only 4-days until January 1st and another quest for the best-year-ever while pursuing the Best-Don-Ever.

Adding a few things to my list . . .

  • Recommit to a strict Morning Routine
  • Power Weekends (aka have a plan for each weekend and don’t just sleep in and do nothing … writing ths, it’s currently 9:52 a.m. on a Sunday and I haven’t even had breakfast or done anything)
  • Work-Only while at Work (8:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. daily)
  • Find a journal brand and make it my brand (you know I am big on “my brands” and I don’t have one for my journals … let alone pen and pencil brands, and boy oh boy do people have passion for journals and writing instruments)
  • Restart my Journal Project

“But, Don,” you say?  “Aren’t you setting yourself up for failure and disappointment?”

No. I don’t see it like that. “Failure” to start something or finish something isn’t really “failure”. I don’t see it as “oh, I’ll NEVER floss my teeth every day” or “I’ll never read 24 books in a year” and that I should crawl into a hole and never do anything. Nope, I see it as I’ll keep trying.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I haven’t performed at The Moth dozens of times. But I have performed 6 times and won once and told stories I’m really, really proud that I told. That’s a win.  I am a guy who flosses every day, now. I do take cold showers and if there are really health benefits to that … winning. I don’t journal every day, but I have journals that go back years and having some of my memories and thoughts on paper that I can reflect back on is better than nothing. Way, way, way better than nothing.

I get excited about new years, fresh starts, and new ideas. I have goals and dreams and will never stop dreaming and chasing. I have problems and I have places in my life I can improve and identifying those areas where I can improve will only make me a better person and thereby make life for those around me better (ie “Stop Reacting in Anger” . . . wouldn’t that be a nice goal to achieve? Or achieve at a 60% success rate).

Here and here are the rest of my resolutions (so far). Got any good things to add? Leave a comment or just start doing things.
