One of the most popular features of my Blog is my “Stuff I Want” list – an ongoing list of things I would love to have but I don’t buy for myself, allowing readers and fans to buy them for me and enjoy the “feels” that come with giving to others (others = me). Plus, it’s Thanksgiving week and it seems like as good a time as any to revamp my list and redefine the “why” and “what” around people giving me things.
My “Stuff I Want” list is also my attempt to become a micro-influencer and someday get some of that sweet, sweet influencer money from promoting, endorsing, and making videos about products I use and like. I don’t get boxes of stuff sent to me (yet), but maybe someday. And I don’t have a focused category like guys on YouTube that review home stereo stuff, lawn mowers, or camping gear. Instead, I do the research and come up with a top-2 or top-3.
The list is also for my wife. She loves knowing exactly what I want for the three annual Don gift-receiving events – Father’s Day, my birthday, and Christmas.
WHAT’S NEW FOR CHRISTMAS 2024 AND INTO 2025
Simplified. Simplified. Simplified. Evolved. Evolved. Evolve. I’m older, now. I’m “in my 50s”. My tastes have changed. For those of you that studied my list for years, and maybe you were saving up to buy me one of the pricier items, well, take a look, again. As an example, my headphones obsession is over. I’ve found the perfect mix of headphones …the cheapest AirPods I can find for quick, wireless listening (mostly to Podcasts). Beats All Day Flex Wireless for noise canceling and listening to music while working outside in the yard and, most importantly, for phone calls. And a high quality but affordable Bluetooth wireless over-the-ear pair …my choice is the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Wireless Special Edition (on sale for $110 for Black Friday if you want some). I’m predisposed to think Sennheisers sound better. And for bedtime listening, the DreamWrap …these have been life-changing.
Back to the evolution …I think it’s pretty exciting times. Specifically, here’s the new items that weren’t there earlier this year.
Last point …I promise to keep the list updated better than I have and I’ll explain more about why I’m asking for certain things or why I love some of the things I’ve received.
Happy shopping!
